Review

In class students reviewed the topics we covered before break.  Students should now be able to round decimals, add/subtract decimals and convert between fractions and decimals.  Students completed a worksheet which is linked below.

Converting between Decimals and Fractions

In class students learned how to convert decimals to fractions.  Afterwards, students learned to convert fractions to decimals.  At the end of the class, students completed an activity involving shooting baskets on a mini hoop.

There is no homework (have a good break!) and the notes are attached.

Rounding and Adding/Subtracting Decimals

In class students learned how to round and were introduced to the "approximately" symbol (≈).  Afterwards, students reviewed how to add and subtract decimals.  Students must remember to always line up the decimal point before adding and subtracting.

Place Value and an introduction to Decimals

In class students were introduced to decimals and learned about place value.   Some time was spent on binary numbers as an introduction.  Students learned how to pronounce and write numbers correctly.  Students also learned how to order decimal numbers from least to greatest.

Fraction Project cont.

In class students were given time to work on/complete the project on fractions.  The assignment is due Friday and students are required to have all their problems worked out at that time.
