Dividing Fractions
In class, we learned how to divide fractions. Remember, division is the opposite of multiplication and, with fractions, we can "Leave, Change, Flip" to evaluate an expression. "Leave, Change, Flip" means to multiply by the reciprocal. Upon returning from break, we will be reviewing how to use the orders of operations (P.E.M.D.A.S.) to evaluate expressions with fractions.
Below is an example of how to use the "Leave, Change, Flip" method to divide.
6 ÷ 2 2/3 ÷ 3/4
Leave, Change, Flip Leave, Change, Flip
6 x 1/2 2/3 x 4/3
3 8/9

Multiplying Fractions
In class students learned how to multiply whole numbers by fractions, as well as, how to multiply a fraction by a fraction. Remember we use the word "of" when multiplying fractions. Finally, remember that whenever we multiply two fractions the product is always less than the two factors.
The notes are attached and the homework is listed below.

Adding and Subtracting Fractions
First off, welcome back from vacation and I hope everyone had a nice break.
During class students learned how to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators. We worked on two different methods to add/subtract fractions and students need to choose the method that works best for them.
The notes and homework are attached below.
